Discovering the new TCR European Endurance championship

2024 is seeing a new championship make its way into the crowded world of Touring Car racing. We are talking about the new TCR European Endurance, which is proposing long distance races for TCR models with an innovative format. The project, conceived by RIZA International of Mauricio Slaviero, a former racing driver and now a motorsport manager, kicked off in April with the first round at the Balaton Park circuit in Hungary.

The TCR European Endurance joined the partners’ list of Racing Spirit, which equips the track staff with a selection of customised garments combining performance, comfort and Italian style. The brand part of Racing Force Group actively supported the launch of the series, which is already catching the attention through exciting battles.

In the TCR European Endurance, the two-driver crews face weekends built around two free practice sessions, two qualifying sessions, and a race divided into two 60-minute segments, with mandatory pit stop and driver change. The final results are determined by the sum of the times of the two fractions of the race. There are also drivers who race alone, serving a longer pit stop time as compensation.

“We are really happy to have begun this new venture”, Mauricio Slaviero, TCR European Endurance promoter, commented. “The format works, and both drivers and teams appreciate its innovative side. The first two races of the season have taught us a lot, and the increase of entries at the second round confirms the value of our product. This opening season is proving to be a success, and to be able to share our achievements with Racing Spirit is a source of great pride for us. This is a major brand in the world of motorsport that is capable of creating beautifully crafted products, and their continuous pursuit of excellence makes them the ideal partner for our project”.

“The TCR European Endurance races provide an excellent platform for our Racing Spirit brand, primarily due to the shared values such as the passion for motorsport”, Luigi Rossi, Senior Marketing of Racing Force Group, added. “We have selected a range of garments that effectively blend the required performance and comfort needs with a style that reinforces the visual identity of an emerging and already compelling series. Furthermore, the professionals from TCR European Endurance can offer valuable insights to further develop our products”.

The inaugural TCR European Endurance campaign will conclude on 24-25 August at the Slovakiaring track. Racing Spirit will provide specific prizes for the first three crews in the Overall classification, as well as for the winners of the DSG, Gen-1, Gentleman, Junior and Lady classes. For them, vests, travel duffle bags and backpacks are up for grabs: they are products ideal for leisure time but also to be used in the paddock.
