Our 2018 Top SEMA Pick

If you’ve been at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas you know what I’m talking about.  It’s insane the number of cars, accessories and more that you see there… it’s definitely the biggest car show in the world and if we were to put together the knowledge of everyone there we would easily be larger than Google.  We walked the Show for four days and saw a lot and it was difficult to come with a winner.  Our iPhone is full of pictures and it helped to a lot to establish a short list of projects we really liked.

APR, the U.S. leader in VW and Audi tuning, has a long history in racing with the latest performance technology; it’s their playground.   This year the displayed a 536 HP VW Golf RLMS and it’s our Show top pick.  By nearly doubling the horsepower of the stock 2018 car, the APR Golf RLMS provides racecar like acceleration and performance for your daily commute.  At the heart of the car we find APR’s Stage III+ engine build on the 2.0 liter turbocharged motor.

The Touring Car Racing-inspired body kit accents the strong lines of the RLMS while providing additional width necessary to accommodate the widened tires and wheels. Closely resembling the styling seen on VW’s TCR cars currently competing around the world, the RLMS features an aggressive front splitter and adjustable rear wing to increase downforce during high speed driving. The extensive modifications continue with APR Roll-Control Racing Coilover System, Roll-Control Stabilizer Bars, a custom APR exhaust and custom two-piece APR wheels wrapped in Toyo Tires. To ensure occupant safety during high performance driving, a custom roll cage has been integrated into the RLMS in addition to OMP racing harnesses and a fire extinguisher system. The custom interior modifications also include racing bucket seats with RLMS embroidery on the seat back.

This car was the showstopper and now will travel allover the U.S. and will participate in track days and will show people like us what a heavily modified car can accomplish.  We’re on board, and what about you?  Do you like this car?  Drop us a comment, we’d like to hear from you.
